Respondents <strong>cannot proceed<\/strong> until they answer them (if you have this option enabled).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Screening questions can only be <strong>multiple-choice<\/strong> types: <em>Dropdown<\/em>, <em>Checkbox<\/em>, or <em>Radio Button<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The purpose of screening questions is to <strong>include only respondents who meet your specific criteria<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"step-block\">    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 1<\/span>\n\n                    <p><strong>Write your questions.<\/strong> You can provide additional information in the <strong>Description<\/strong> field when necessary.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 2<\/span>\n\n                    <p>Select whether you want the screening questions to appear as a <strong>Dropdown<\/strong>, <strong>Radio Button<\/strong>, or <strong>Checkbox<\/strong> selection. You can add as many as you like.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 3<\/span>\n\n                    <p>Click <strong>Add answer<\/strong> to create as many answer options as needed.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 4<\/span>\n\n                    <p>For <strong>Radio Button<\/strong> and <strong>Dropdown<\/strong> answer types, use the <strong>Reject<\/strong> checkboxes to mark which answers should exclude respondents who select them.<br><br>For <strong>Checkbox<\/strong> answer types, set each choice as <strong>Must select<\/strong>, <strong>May select<\/strong>, or <strong>Cannot select<\/strong>, depending on how it should affect qualification.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 5<\/span>\n\n                    <p>Below the screening questions, you can customize the <strong>message<\/strong> displayed to respondents who have been rejected.<br><br>You can also set a <strong>redirect URL<\/strong> for those who have been rejected (e.g., to link them to a different study that is open to anyone).<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"create-your-questions\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Create your questions<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"create-your-questions\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">In the <strong>Survey questions<\/strong> substep of the <strong>Questionnaire<\/strong> step, you can set up your survey questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"step-block\">    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 1<\/span>\n\n                    <p>If needed, customize <strong>Survey title and description<\/strong> shown before the survey \u2013 for example, to provide special instructions for answering the questions. This can also be turned off.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 2<\/span>\n\n                    <p><strong>Write your questions.<\/strong> You can include additional information in the <strong>Description<\/strong> field or attach an <strong>image<\/strong> if necessary. Images can be zoomed in and are scrollable for participants.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 3<\/span>\n\n                    <p><strong>Select the answer type.<\/strong> Answers can be:<br>&#8211; <strong>Free text:<\/strong> single-line, multi-line, or numeric input.<br>&#8211; <strong>Multiple choice:<\/strong> checkboxes, checkboxes with images, checkbox grid, radio buttons, radio buttons with images, or radio button grid, dropdown.<br>&#8211; <strong>Scoring:<\/strong> 5-point or 7-point Likert scale, or Net Promoter Score (NPS).<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 4<\/span>\n\n                    <p>Select <strong>Answer required<\/strong> if you want the question to be mandatory. Otherwise, respondents will be able to skip it.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 5<\/span>\n\n                    <p>If the question collects personal data, mark it as <strong>Collects personal data<\/strong>. In this case, participant consent is required before proceeding. You can toggle <strong>Privacy &amp; Consent<\/strong> message in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uxtweak.com\/help\/survey-setup\/tab-messages\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2027\">Messages step<\/a>.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    \n\n    <div class=\"step-instance\">\n        <span class=\"step-number\">Step 6<\/span>\n\n                    <p>Click <strong>Add question<\/strong> to include more questions, and repeat steps 2\u20135 for each one.<\/p>\n            <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"callout-block\" tabindex=\"0\">\n            \n            <div class=\"callout-content\"><strong>Tip: <\/strong>You can insert new questions directly above or below an existing question using the options in the question menu. This makes it easier to expand questionnaires without manually rearranging the order.<\/div>\n        <\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">Above the list of questions, you\u2019ll find an option to <strong>import<\/strong> or <strong>export<\/strong> questions using a <strong>CSV file<\/strong>. Use this feature to easily <strong>reuse surveys<\/strong> across studies or to <strong>import surveys<\/strong> created outside the study setup environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">Use UTF-8 encoded CSV files to ensure that the import works correctly. The simplest way to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1tmICALPvCvlAxcu0yTrhkdmRMglUjiSAM_s_s_Awhzs\/edit?usp=sharing\">save your imported file with UTF-8 encoding is to edit it through Google Sheets<\/a> (click the link for more instructions). When this option is enabled, respondents will be informed about it in your custom <strong>Privacy Information and Consent<\/strong> message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also select <strong>specific questions<\/strong> that collect personal data. This helps respondents understand which questions involve personal information, as outlined in your custom Privacy Information and Consent message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To display this information to respondents, make sure the <strong>Privacy and Consent message<\/strong> is enabled.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"answer-options\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Answer Options<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"answer-options\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>After selecting one of the <strong>multiple-option answer types<\/strong> (<em>Dropdown Select<\/em>, <em>Radio Button<\/em>, or <em>Checkbox Select<\/em>), you can add more options by clicking <strong>+ Add answer option<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>Dropdown Select<\/strong> and <strong>Radio Button<\/strong> questions, respondents can choose <strong>only one<\/strong> option. For <strong>Checkbox Select<\/strong>, they can choose <strong>multiple options<\/strong> at once.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each option must be between <strong>1 and 250 characters<\/strong> long.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Random order of answer options<\/strong> to randomize the order in which options are displayed for each respondent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Trash Bin<\/strong> icon to remove any option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can enable <strong>Allow other answer<\/strong> when using Dropdown Select, Radio Button, or Checkbox Select question types. This lets respondents <strong>enter their own custom answer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you enable <strong>Require to justify answer<\/strong>, respondents will be asked to provide a short text explanation for their selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 id=\"grid-questions\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Grid Questions<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"grid-questions\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\"><strong>Grid questions<\/strong> are best suited for asking participants about <strong>pairs of items<\/strong> taken from two sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">For example, the rows can represent <em>time slots<\/em> and the columns can represent <em>days<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>In a <strong>Checkbox Grid<\/strong>, participants can select <strong>multiple options<\/strong>, regardless of their row or column position.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a <strong>Radio Button Grid<\/strong>, participants can select <strong>only one option per row<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 id=\"likert-scale-questions\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Likert Scale Questions<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"likert-scale-questions\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\"><strong>Likert scale questions<\/strong> ask respondents to rate their level of agreement with a statement. For example: \u201cPlease select how much you agree with the following statement: <em>The information on example.com is organized in an intuitive way.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">The <strong>higher the score<\/strong>, the more the respondent agrees with the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>The <strong>highest score<\/strong> represents <em>total agreement<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>lowest score<\/strong> represents <em>total disagreement<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">You can choose between a <strong>5-point<\/strong> and a <strong>7-point<\/strong> Likert scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>The <strong>5-point scale<\/strong> is easier to interpret.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>7-point scale<\/strong> provides more nuance and allows respondents to express subtle differences in opinion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">You can <strong>customize the labels<\/strong> for the lowest and highest points of the scale to clarify their meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">If you enable <strong>Require to justify answer<\/strong>, respondents will be prompted to explain the score they selected.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 id=\"net-promoter-score\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Net Promoter Score<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"net-promoter-score\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\"><strong>Net Promoter Score (NPS)<\/strong> questions are used to measure <strong>overall user satisfaction and loyalty<\/strong>. They typically look like this: \u201cHow likely are you to recommend example.com to your friends or colleagues?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">Respondents answer on a <strong>scale from 0 to 10<\/strong>, where a higher score indicates a greater likelihood of recommending your product or service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">Respondents are grouped into three categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li><strong>Promoters (9\u201310):<\/strong> Highly satisfied users who actively recommend your product or service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Passives (7\u20138):<\/strong> Content users who are generally satisfied but not enthusiastic; improvements can help prevent them from switching to competitors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Detractors (0\u20136):<\/strong> Unhappy users who may share negative feedback. Their insights are valuable for identifying issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">Your final <strong>Net Promoter Score<\/strong> is a number between <strong>\u2013100<\/strong> (if all respondents are detractors) and <strong>100<\/strong> (if all respondents are promoters).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-block\">You can also <strong>customize the labels<\/strong> of the lowest and highest scores to better reflect the intent of your scale.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 id=\"question-order\" class=\"heading-block\" tabindex=\"0\">Question Order<a class=\"copy-link\" title=\"Copy link\" data-id=\"question-order\">&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.uxtweak.com\/wp-content\/themes\/uxtweak\/public\/assets\/images\/icons\/link.svg\" alt=\"Copy link\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"bullet-list\">\n<li>You can choose to <strong>randomize the order of your questions<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When randomization is enabled, you can keep the <strong>first<\/strong>, the <strong>last<\/strong>, or <strong>both<\/strong> questions fixed in place \u2014 or randomize <strong>all<\/strong> of them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the order of questions is <strong>not randomized<\/strong>, they will appear in the same sequence as shown in the study setup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also <strong>manually change the order<\/strong> of questions by <strong>dragging and dropping<\/strong>. Simply grab a question with your cursor and move it up or down the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, click the <strong>ellipsis (\u22ef)<\/strong> button next to a question and use the <strong>Move up<\/strong> or <strong>Move down<\/strong> options to adjust its position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"callout-block\" tabindex=\"0\">\n            \n            <div class=\"callout-content\"><strong>Tip: <\/strong>If your question contains multiple options, you can edit them in bulk using the Bulk edit options feature.
