As a part of planning your interviews and preparing your schedule, you invite your team members and other stakeholders to join the chosen time slots. You can invite them into any of the time slots with one of the three available roles:

  • Moderator
  • Note-taker
  • Observer

Here, you can learn about the purpose of each role and the specific privileges associated with them.

Moderators are responsible for guiding the participants through the interview. They are there to ask questions, prompt the participants to provide insights, and help the participants if there are any setbacks. Moderators are directly joined in the call and can interact with the participants head-on using their mic and text chat.

Moderators can share their webcam and screen with the participants. Each moderator can access and create shared notes, which are time-stamped. The notes aren’t visible to the participants or observers. You can invite only members of your UXtweak team to be moderators in your time slots.

Note-taker Copy link

The key responsibility of note-takers is to make sure that no valuable insights go unnoticed. The note-takers are not directly on the call. This means they are invisible to the participants and cannot interact with them in any way. Note-takers see and hear everything that is going on in the call and have access to the same shared notes as the moderators. They can create these time-stamped notes as well. If you want to invite someone as a note-taker to your time slot, they need to be a part of your UXtweak team.

Observer Copy link

The silent observer is a perfect role for your clients or internal stakeholders who are not directly involved in the research. You can invite anyone to be an observer in your time slots. The call is live-streamed to them, and they cannot interact with it in any way. They are there just to watch. This way, you can allow your clients to be present in your interviews without interrupting.
