How to filter your participants in the Targeting step

Use these options to decide who will be recruited using your widget.

There are two approaches for determining who gets to see the widget. The first is by defining the pages where the widget is shown. This way, you can target visitors by context since you only invite those visitors who are viewing content relevant to the study(for example, the pages of a specific category of products in e-commerce). The subdomain setup is done in the Website setup step.
Second is targeting visitors by their device, locations, and language. The device and language are decided based on the information sent by the browser, and the location is determined based on the visitor’s IP address. Use these settings to make the widget target more specific categories of people. The available settings include:
- Devices:
  - All devices
  - Include specific devices – select from the Desktop, Smartphone, Tablet, Gaming Console, and Other options.
- Locations:
  - All locations
  - Include or exclude specific locations – select from continents (Asia, Europe…), regions (Eastern Europe, Northern Europe…), countries, or any combination of these categories.
- Languages:
  - All languages
  - Include specific languages

Select the device types in which your widget will appear.

Select from which countries, regions, and continents you want to recruit.

Select the language that participants should set in their browser to be eligible for recruitment.
